Tower Climbers

Comtrain courses meet the criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, the highest industry standard for training. They also meet the requirements of ASSE/ANSI Z359.2, the minimum requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program, found in the ASSE/ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code. The Comtrain Competent Tower Rigging Course addresses the new ASSE/ANSI A10.48-2016 standards.

Comtrain is an authorized training provider for Crown Castle, SBA, American Tower, Black and Veatch, MasTec, Bechtel, CSX Railroad and many other global companies. Comtrain is named as the preferred training provider for the major carriers and infrastructure providers around the globe. Comtrain is recognized as a N.A.T.E. Member Training Company that meets or exceeds the requirements of the N.A.T.E. Tower Climber Fall Protection Training Standard (CTS).

Basic Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue (Authorized Climber/Rescuer) is an intensive program that will teach new and experienced climbers how to climb safely, descend with various descent tools and perform rescues. The class is designed to meet OSHA regulations and addresses applicable ANSI standards and equipment needed to meet those standards. Some specific areas addressed include site hazard assessment, safety meetings and JHAs, fall protection, PFAS, PPE and emergency contingency planning and rescue techniques. This Comtrain course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training as per ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, the NATE CTS and ASSE/ANSI Z359.2, the minimum requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program. Advanced Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue (Competent Climber/Rescuer) is an intensive 3 day course designed for experienced climbers and In-House Instructor candidates. This course teaches more advanced rescue techniques, self-rescue and rope access skills, rescue planning and response as well as victim evaluation and advanced first aid during rescue/suspension. This Comtrain course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, the NATE CTS and ASSE/ANSI Z359.2, the minimum requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program, found in the ASSE/ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code. Tower Climber

The Tower Safety & Rescue In-house Instructor/Train-the-Trainer course is designed to prepare an In-house instructor to incorporate Comtrain’s “Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue” training into their companies’ safety plans and policies and then deliver the training to their employees. The Tower Safety & Rescue Instructor Course candidate must complete Comtrain’s Authorized & Competent Climber/Rescuer course to qualify. Click for more info.

Tower Climber

The one day rigging course is a combination of classroom lecture and practical skills training. The Competent Tower Rigging Course addresses (OSHA 29 CFR 1926, ASSE/ANSI 10.48-2016, ANSI/TIA ASME B30.9 and B30.26) rigging operations in which the loads are less than 1000 lbs. Click for more info.

Tower Riggers

The Competent Rigging In-House Instructor /Train-the-Trainer course is designed to prepare a company’s in-house instructor to incorporate Comtrain’s “Competent Rigging” training into their companies’ safety plans and policies and then deliver the training to their employees. The Competent Rigging Instructor must have a minimum 5 years of tower rigging experience including rigging plans, implementation and execution. Click for more info.

To keep our In-House Instructors up to date on regulations, standards, equipment and teaching techniques and to renew climbing, rescue or rigging certifications, ComTrain requires all In-House Instructors to be Recertified every 2 years (24 months). Click for more info.
