June is National Safety Month

In 1996, the National Safety Council (NSC) established June as National Safety Month in the U.S. with the goal of increasing public awareness for the leading health and safety risks that increase during the summer months, and the number of injuries and deaths at the jobsite, on the road, and in the home.

Use this opportunity to promote safety in your workplace and elsewhere.

According to the National Safety Council, nearly 13,000 American workers suffer a preventable injury every day. Injury should never be a cost of doing business. Here are some basic tips for ensuring safety in your workplace:

1. Make Fall Safety a top priority.
2. Eliminate workplace fatalities with emerging technologies.
3. Secure all loads properly.
4. Securely and neatly store loose materials
5. Ensure that everyone is wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) for their environment.
